Miniature angle sensor with CANopen interface

53 mm long and 12 mm in diameter - that's the posirot® PRDS1. Thanks to its compact rod design, the magnetic angle sensor from ASM fits even into the tightest installation spaces and is ideal for door hinges as well as swivel and gripper arms on mobile machines. This gives design engineers even more options for integrating non-contact angle measurement into their applications.
The posirot® PRDS1 sensor is not only slim, but also very reliable. This is ensured by the built-in multi-Hall technology. Rotary positions from 0° to 360° are measured using a Hall-effect sensor array and an external position magnet. This magnetic encoder technology is completely contactless and contains no moving parts. The ASM posirot® PRDS1 sensor is therefore exceptionally resistant to shock and vibration and can withstand temperatures from -40° to +85°.
Applications in difficult environmental conditions are therefore no problem: whether in mobile machines in outdoor use, in production and filling plants with intensive cleaning processes or in large medical devices that come into contact with strong disinfectants.
The posirot® PRDS1 sensor has protection class IP67, with corresponding mating connector IP69, and is therefore also resistant to steam jet cleaning.
The measuring range of the magnetic angle sensor is 0° to 360° (in 15° steps). The sensor has a CANopen interface. Sensor models with incremental output or SSI digital output are also available.
The resolution of the posirot® PRDS1 is 0.03% (60... 360°) and 0.1% (15... 45°). The sensor has a linearity of +/-0.3% of the measuring range.
